On Monday, July 26th, AHTCC joined 9 other industry organizations on a letter discussing H.R. 4868, the Housing Preservation and Tenant Protection Act of 2010. While AHTCC supports many pieces of the legislation there are several provisions which raise concerns among industry participants. In the letter (linked below) addressed to House Financial Services Committee Chair Barney Frank, the organizations state “(we) are strongly opposed to any provisions in the legislation that will restrict or impinge on private property rights. We believe such overreaching provisions are contrary to preservation and will undermine the public private partnership that is essential to successful preservation efforts.”
