			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On December 17, 2009, fifteen Senators signed onto a &#8220;Dear Colleague&#8221; letter addressed to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) and Ranking Member Charles Grassley (R-IA) in support of legislative changes to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.</p>
<p>Specifically the letter encourages the Committee to extend the Housing Credit exchange program for one year, adopt a five-year Credit carryback proposal, and consider other proposals designed to attrack additonal investors to the program.</p>
<p>The letter was spearheaded by Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and John F. Kerry (D-MA).  Other signers include: Charles Schumer (D-NY); Jeff Bingaman (D-NM); Debbie Stabenow (D-MI); and Olympia Snowe (R-ME).  (Not a complete list).</p>
